Case Management Society of South Texas

Promoting professionalism, ethical values and excellence in Case Management through education, networking, and support for the individual Case Manager.

About Us

The Case Management Society of South Texas has been an integral part of the health care system for over 14 years. In 1999 we were incorporated as a educational corporation providing continuing education activities for Case Managers in South Texas. We have a monthly educational/CEU breakfast meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Luby's on the corner of Huebner and Floyd Curl, (serving line opens at 7:30 a.m.). Additionally, we sponsor evening CEU meetings/dinners for those who cannot come to the regular meetings. We also have an annual 2 day Educational Conference with CEUs.

We are governed by a Board of Directors made up of clinicians who volunteer their time to make our Society the success it is.

With our website we provide annual conference applications, continuing education links, job postings and other activities designed to enhance the professional lives of our members. Welcome to our site! Suggestions and comments can be emailed to us via the Contact Us Form. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Our History

The Case Management Society of South Texas was formed in 1990 by a group of eight members who performed the role of Case Management.

It was noted that Home Health, Rehabilitation Nurses, etc. all had their own organizations but there was nothing for Case Managers. It was started as a networking opportunity and later became focused on education as well.

The first election for officers took place in the Spring of 1991. Philip Shannon, RN was the first elected Chair
